Dogs are lovable, adorable and best companions anyone can think of. They are known for their unconditional love that they splurge on humans in comparison to any other animal. But intelligence need not be a inbuilt trait of all breeds. Some breeds are extremely intelligent while some gullible. Your dog’s smartness also depends on how well you are as a trainer.
It is not difficult to make out whether your dog is smart chap or not.
1. How Soon Your Pooch Learns.
Well, foremost the most easy way to know whether your dog is smart or not is how quickly it learns to understand your commands. the more the time taken, the less smart is your dog. If you are spending less time teaching your dog and it is taking much lesser to learn, it can be inscribed in bold words that your dog is an intelligent chap. 2. When He Himself Follows The Commands Well.
You took your dog for a walk and taught it some basic commands like “sit”, “ off”, “go outside”. With your dog watching you, hide a ball or a treat in some place. Now let the dog search for it. If the dog is successful in finding where the ball is kept. It is shrewd and smart to find where the treat is then you are blessed with a really intelligent dog who is a quick learner, grasping things quickly.
4. Hand Movements.
A dog’s level of intelligence and smartness can be judged by certain traits that it possess. It is noted that in case of humans left handed ones are inclined more towards creative activities and music, whereas those who are right handed are good often good in language and logical analysis. The same applies in case of dogs as well.
If you find your dog to be right handed, it is good at understanding language and gestures which is directly related to learning ability.
5. Number Test
Studies state, dogs brain are bigger compared to that of cats. In average a smart dog can learn up to 165 words in a day. Not only are dogs good with words but also with numbers. Place two bowls. In one place 6 candies and in the other place 3.
Your dog may not be able to count 1 to 10 like a human, but it can calculate the same through perception. If your dog chooses the one with more candies, it is surely good with numbers.
