Overview


Alaskan Malamute is large sized dog breeds originating from the United States. They are also known as Mal and Mally. They have heavy bone structure and compact built. They are used as working dogs and listed among northern breeds. it grows as tall as 24-26 inches and weighs in between 70-95 pounds. its gait is smooth and effortless. It sports double coat, thick and flat outer coat, coarse and wooly undercoat. They closely resemble wolves. Similar to its wolf ancestors, it has a strong sense of smell and sight. It is powerful and adventurous. It needs constant regular exercise to keep it calm and composed, lest it will turn aggressive and destructive. In free time, it can be seen digging the ground or howl. It is affectionate towards children but can be hostile towards other pet breeds and strangers.
