Kittens are known to be energetic and full of life. There can hardly be any dull moment with kittens around. 1. It is not advisable to adopt a recently born kitten as an infant. Infant kittens need to be with their mother cat at least for 8 weeks to 10 weeks for care. It is necessary for them to be with their social group to inhibit their behavior and skills like playing, biting etc. which they can learn only when with the mother cat and its sibling.
Cats do not like to stay alone for long. They need a mate to play with and chase mice together. It is advisable to adopt two kittens. They are known to bond extremely well with each another. This would ensure them company and you some free time to relax without worries of their boredom when not around.
2. Cats grow when they climb. Restricting your cat from climbing can cause them stunted growth. Studies state cats stop growing in height as they start jumping. It is recommended to get your cat a scratching post for your kitty to climb.
3. Cats love to purr. And if they purr on you, it means you have successfully set your place in its heart.
4. Kitties are a bundle of energy house, who are always on the move indulging in adventurous activities. If you are not an adventure person, it is advisable not to adopt a cat. If you do, then be ready to wear the gear of energy bonanza.
5. Kittens are born explorers, always sneaking through some shrub or chasing mice. This can cause them injuries accidently. It is necessary to take care of your kitty from getting injured. It is recommended to keep cords and wires away from them as it may accidently cause them injured.
6. It is necessary to neuter your kitty in 7 months otherwise you may have to face the problem of its urine marking. Get them declawed, which can save them from biting problem and scratching issues.
7. Cats are seekers of attention. They need your constant petting and attention or else they may turn aggressive and destructive. Pet them and play with them. Do not let anyone else play with your cat. Cats are reclusive to strangers and they may unknowingly cause them hurt.
8. They hate boredom and avid hunters. They may get extremely clumsy when you are not around, it is recommended to get your kitten toys like squeaky chase mice toys which would keep it entertained and engaged when you are away. Treat them with several toys, just like kids, cats too love to play and explore toys.
