Swainson’s Thrush also known as Catharus ustulatus are medium sized birds belonging to thrush species. They are spread extensively across Canada, Alaska and the northern United States. They weigh between 23 to 45 g and grow up to 7.9 inches in size. They have a life expectancy of 11 years. Its diet mainly comprises of insects and fruits. This thrush has the white-dark-white underwing pattern characteristic of Catharus thrushes. Adults are brown on the upperparts. The underparts are white with brown on the flanks; the breast is lighter brown with darker spots.
