Sharp-Shinned Hawk also known as Accipiter striatus are medium sized birds belonging to hawk species. They are native to the United States and Canada. The males weigh between 82 to 120 g and females between 150 to 220 g. They grow up to 11.8 inches in height. Their lifespan exceeds up to 13 years. They are the smallest hawk species in the United States and Canada. Adults have short broad wings and a medium-length tail banded in blackish and gray with the tip varying among individuals from slightly notched through the square to slightly rounded (often narrowly tipped white).
