Pyrenean Shepherd also known as Berger Des Pyrénées, Petit Berger, Pyrenees Sheepdog and Pyr Shep are medium sized dog breeds originating from France and Spain. They grow as tall as 18.5 inches and weigh in between 15-32 pounds. They are used as herd dogs. Their gait is powerful and ground covering. Their coat comes in two types, rough and smooth occurring in shades of tan, fawn, charcoal as well as gray. They are powerful and athletic, known for their intelligence, brevity, and warm nature. They have an alert expression, tend to be wary of strangers and make excellent watchdogs. They are extremely obedient and energetic. They tend to be very affectionate and playful with children, wary of strangers and other pets.
