Catahoula Leopard Dog is medium to large size dog breeds originating from the United States. They are also known as Catahoula Hog Dog, Catahoula Cur, and Catahoula Hound. The males grow as tall as 22-26 inches and females grow between 20-24 inches. they weigh a maximum of 55-80 pounds. the have heavy bone structure and muscular built. its gait is powerful and far reaching. Its coat is short, smooth and clinging to the body occurring in a variety of colors. It is known to be energetic and intelligent. in contrast to their image, they tend to be of calm and composed demeanor. They are easy to train breeds. they get along well with children and other pet breeds. they may tend to be reclusive of strangers.
