The Actual Reason, Why Dogs Tilt Their Heads

Don’t you find your dog really adorable when it tilts its head to the side. We are sure,  even the most hardened hearts will melt by this gesture. Their eyes carry emotions and their love towards humans is unmatchable. It gives us a feeling of care and attention.

Often the science behind this behavior of the dog is your pooch being empathetic species. They usually tilt their head when they are keenly listening to what you say. This trait is even visible in humans who often tend to tilt their head when hearing out to somebody on an emotional level.

It is also associated with a dog’s sensitivity towards sound. Their sense of hearing is clairaudience. Dog’s ears are more sensitive compared to that of humans. They can sense sounds 1000 times more than that of humans. Their ears are able to take up even minuscule of vibrations in the surrounding, making them sense even minutest of changes in the sound pattern. Thus,  often they tend to tilt their head in order to listen more keenly from where the sound is coming or the source of the sound.

Another study states dogs similar to humans can recognize body language and can even sense emotions. So if you find your four-pawed friend tilting its head the next time you are talking to him, it clearly indicates your pooch cares for you and adores you. By tilting its head it gets a clearer view of our face. It is fully paying attention to your words and by tilting its head also indirectly signaling out to that it will be all more happy to get a dose of pampering from you.
