1.Rottweiler
Rottweilers tend to put on weight very easily. A daily walk on 10-15 minutes is needed to keep it healthy. These are prone to a Epilepsy. These breed are susceptible to Osteochondrosis – a degenerative bone disease. With proper care and medication these problems can be prevented.
2.Doberman Pinscher
These breed of dog are susceptible to a wide range of health problems. They are prone to bloat and GastricTorsion which causes their stomach to expand and rotate. Cancer, Hypothyroidism, Colour Dilution Alopecia. An instability in the Interverbal area of the neck known as Wobbler’s syndrome. Other health issues that affects this species are hepatitis, dilated Cardiomyopathy, non Willebrand’s disease – an inherited bleeding disorder and Copper Hepatopathy which causes liver disease.
3.German Shepherd
German shepherds are prone to Hip and Elbow dysplasia. Autoimmune diseases affecting the immune system is common in this species. These are susceptible to Epilepsy, Vision problems, Bleeding disorders and Digestive problems, Degenerative Myelopathy which is an incurable condition that causes progressive Paralysis.
4.Labrador Retriever
Labrador retriever have a lifespan of 10-12 years. They are prone to suffer from Cancer, Exercise-induced collapse, which is a screenable Genetic disorder.
5.Saint Bernard
Saint Bernards are prone to Cancers typically Bone Cancer. They are also prone to suffer from various cardiac disorders like Cardiomyopathy. Proper treatment and medication can help to get them some relief and cure. Other health disorders include Cherry eye, Cutaneous Asthenia, Diabetes and Dilated Cardiomyopathy.
6.Golden Retriever
Golden retrievers suffer from a high risk of Cancer and Hip dysplasia, a disease of the hips where the ball and socket joint are malformed. They are also prone to Sub- Aortic Stenosis and Elbow dysplasia.
7.Irish Setter
Irish setters are prone to Epilepsy , which can be stabilized through medication. They also suffer from Quadriplegia with Amblyopia which is caused due to hereditary disorder. This causes frequent seizures in them and causes difficulty in standing.
8.Basset Hound
Basset hound has an average lifespan of 8 to 12 years, is prone to a range of genetic diseases. They suffer from bloat, von Willebrand which is caused by missing or defective von Willebrand factor, a clotting protein.
9.Bulldog
Bulldogs are prone to a variety of genetically inherited congenital and hereditary problems. They usually suffer from Patellar, Elbow and Hip dysplasia, Muzzle Pyoderma which causes pus in their skin, Folliculitis where the hair follicles gets infected. Other minor problems include Cherry eyes, Cleft lip, Circulatory Arteriovenous Fistula.
10.Newfoundland
These breed are highly prone to suffer from Subvalvular Aortic Stenosis a heart condition, which when left untreated can result to sudden death.
