Chestnut-Backed Chickadee also known as Poecile rufescens are small sized passerine birds. They are found extensively spread across the United States and western Canada, from southern Alaska to southwestern California. They weigh between 8.5 to 13 g and grow up to 4.9 inches in size. Their diet comprises of insects and seeds. They are found in the low elevation coniferous and mixed coniferous forests. They have dark brown colorations on their head and neck with a shade of white on their belly.
