Anatolian Shepherd Dog are large size dog breeds originating from Turkey. They are also known by different sobriquets like Coban Kopegi, Karabash Dog, Kara Bas, Kangal Dog, Kham Kepiji Dogs and Scandinavian Nygaard Dogs. They have good bone structure combined with excellent speedy and smooth trot. They are used as working dogs and guard dogs. They grow as tall as 26-30 inches and weigh in between 90-150 pounds. It’s coat is double which is short and medium length on the outside, thick and dense on the inside. They are known to be territorial and obedient. It is wary of strangers, tending to bark a lot. It is gentle and protective getting along well with children. it is aggressive towards other pet breeds.
