African wild dog also known as Lycaon pictus, African hound, and Three-color jackal are medium sized dogs originating from Africa. It grows as tall as 30 inches and weighs in between 18-34 kg. its gait is far reaching and supple. Its coat is short and smooth which is commonly found to be multi-colored. They have close resemblance with hyenas. They are calm and composed in appearance but can tend to be aggressive. They are wary of strangers, other animals and can be boisterous with children.
