Weird Dog Facts: Do You Know This About Your Pooch?

So the last session we delved into some unknown aspects of dg’s life. Like you know some unknown facts about your pooch, which you were unaware of. Today we will get an insight of another fact about dogs, which can seem quite weird. Well, so you are waiting patiently to know what this fact is all about which is so weird? Well, to start with what if it is told to you not to give a warm embrace to your four.-pawed buddy? Seeming obscure right?

Unlike humans who are known to show their affection through embrace, these four-pawed breeds can be quite the opposite of it. Yes, you heard it right. Dogs are not so fond of getting hugged by humans (some breeds may be exceptional in this case like Labrador retriever, bulldog, to name a few). Your pooch may be affectionate enough to shower its love and fondness through pampering and may enjoy human care, but hugs don't fall in their category of likeness.

Okay, this happens to be the first fact. Now the second. Do you know your dog does communicate to you or to state more clearly talk to you?

When compared to rub, pat and hug, your pooch will prefer the former two rather than the later ones. Pets are known to communicate through actions and gestures. Through this, it is easy to know whether they are stressed or happy.  There are certain signs and signals through which it is going to talk to you.

If you find your dog yawning, it signals it is anxious. Another way of expressing its anxiety is through scratching. If you find your dog scratching its collar, probably it is signaling anxiety. If you find your dog licking its lips, not always will it mean it's hungry for food, it can mean the opposite too. Studies have stated, this trait of dogs licking their lips signify discomfort towards any situation or thing.

Your dog, unlike a human, may not interpret hug in a similar way. They usually consider hug as a sign of danger. It feels anxious and interprets it as an attack. This can be well observed through certain signals thrown out by your pooch. if you find your dog pulls its ears tightly backward, closes its mouth, has tense eyes and are seen licking their lips, it’s a signal of discomfort given out by them.

Have you ever seen one dog giving a hug to another dog? Dogs often look at hugs as a threat to their territory or as an approaching attack. This causes them to refrain from hugs, but if your dog bends itself towards you during a cuddle, it may signal it is not anxious with a hug.

How can one make the dog feel comfortable in a hug? Well, if you have your dog seated beside you and you want to hug your four-pawed furry buddy, do treat them with gifts. You can reward it with presents and candies. The best way to make your dog feel comfortable with a hug, not making it turn anxious, is to incline it innately. This trait can be imbibed by making it comfortable in a hug from the time they are small pups. This can help change this weird trait into a pleasant one.
