It is necessary to train your cat as well as teach your kid how to behave with each other in order to save them from accidents. Helping your child get to know your cat and see things from its point of view will help to save a lot of worries. Your child will not only know how to be around a cat, it will inbuild the feeling of love and to be loved from a young age.
If you have a 6 to a 7-year-old kid at your place, it is advisable to not to adopt an infant kitten, as embodying over affection can end up hurting your small kitten. It is recommended to get a more matured and grown up cat which will be able to handle your child with dexterity. But an adult cat may lose its temper and turn aggressive if its tail is pulled. A cat’s stomach is the most sensitive area, touching and grabbing it will bring a natural reaction to attack by your cat.
It is necessary to teach the child on how to hold a cat properly and when to back off if it finds its ears turn flatten and tail twitch. Though teaching your child how to behave with the cat, it is advisable as a parent to not leave them alone for long. A child may not always remember the ethics and may at times in playfulness end up turning the cat aggressive. At the same time, your cat may playfully end up hurting your kid. It is recommended to keep your kid and cat not far from your view and not playing alone for long.
