Cats are known to be obligate carnivores and according to a recent study it is stated, cats require at least 41 essential nutrients for their body to function properly. It is very much important to feed your feline a balanced diet in order for it have a healthy life.

  1. Feed your cat with fresh and clean water.
  2. Unlike human food, which can be stored for lot many days, your pets food needs to be eaten immediately and stored in refrigeration for maximum of two days.
  3. You can feed your pet with dry pet food which is available in re-saleable packets and can be stored with many days.
  4. Make sure to indulge your pet with treats at intervals, but also make sure its meal is fed is in small quantities, so that its nutrition doesn’t get disrupted. Feeding too much may lead your cat fall prey to obesity.
  5. Keep your pet food separate from human food. Human food can prove harmful to your feline’s health. Keep your feline’s water and food in separate bowls. Use plastic bowls which can be replaced periodically.
  6. Do not feed your cat with toxic food items like alcohol, bones, dog food, Chocolate, Coffee and tea caffeine, Eggs, Excessive fat, Green parts of tomato plant, Grapes raisins, Human vitamins and supplements,  Licorice, Milk, lactose, Moldy food, Onions, garlic, chives, Raw and undercooked meat, Slug pellets, Yeast, Paracetamol tablets.

 Feeding your feline right food, in right quantity and right time is the most important thing to take care of. Giving it proper exercise at equal intervals to maintain good health will make your cat’s life healthy and carefree.
